What is an underlying question that gives form to your work or interest in this field?

“How can we better understand, manage and direct subtle energies as a tool for individual and collective healing and social change?"

What is your personal experience of collective wisdom in groups?

I have been a teacher, facilitator and group participant for all of my adult life. My experience is that the group provides knowledge, insight, support, challenge and levels of energy that could never be found within oneself as an individual. I have experienced how my thoughts, attitudes and intentions influence others. I have felt the influence of others' thoughts and intentions on me. I therefore am convinced that we need to collectively train our minds to transmit the most positive of energies to
assist in the healing and transformation of our universe.

What is it about the work in this field that excites you and connects you to your own deepest self?

I am most challenged by the seeming contradiction in my own life of living in a culture that seems to be going farther and farther astray at a faster and faster speed while trying to hold to the intention of helping to generate a field of positive, transformative energy.

Please provide a brief storyline or snapshot of what brought you to this work.

I have always been involved in energy work, it would seem. As a child and young person I would describe myself as intensely sensitive - an energy sponge. As I have matured, I have learned ways to better manage my own energy and those energies that I receive. Doctoral work at the California Institute of Integral Studies allowed me to study what is known about subtle energies in a rigorous and profound manner. This inquiry continues to this day. An important teacher for me is Thich Nhat Hanh, the Vietnamese Buddhist monk living in exile in France. The model of his life and his teachings on engaged Buddhist inspire me daily. My doctoral dissertation focused on my own personal experiences in learning how to better understand, manage and direct subtle energies. In a very real sense, my entire life with my various roles of teacher, guide, healer, mother, wife, learner have given me opportunities for ongoing growth and learning. I feel poised at the edge of moving more deeply in to this work and look with anticipation to where that might lead me.

How would you like to be available to others in this field?

I welcome connections, discussions, sharing and inquiry with others!! My own work is moving towards helping to expand the existing network of energy workers with an overall goal of making the impact of subtle energies on the well-being of our planet something accessible and comprehensible to all people.
