What is an underlying question that gives form
to your work or interest in this field?
What do leaders do, and what more could they do, to nurture
and enrich their spirit?
What is your personal experience of collective
wisdom in groups?
I facilitate group decision-making processes in which
people, given the opportunity to select a course of action for their
own work, make remarkably creative decisions that they are also ready
to implement.
What is it about the work in this field that excites
you and connects you to your own deepest self?
I find facilitation an opportunity to release creativity
and trust in groups of people who might otherwise never cooperate.
Please provide a brief storyline or snapshot of
what brought you to this work.
When martin Luther King was assassinated, my husband
and I decided we needed to do something to serve society as he did.
We went to Chicago to join The Ecumenical Institute, where we worked
as volunteers for 20 years. We learned there the amazing courage and
creativity that groups can achieve who cooperate towards a vision they
have of an attainable future.
How would you like to be available to others in
this field?
I would like to hold weekend reflection sessions –
a “Leadership Workout” -- for leaders about how they care
for themselves.
